RA Analysis (word count: 442)

1. The argument for this Harry Potter trailer is that this movie, the last of the series, will be the best most epic one yet!
2. Audience- i think this trailer mostly targets die hard Harry Potter fans (like myself)
3. Goal- to get fans to come see the last Harry Potter movies
4. How?- First off, the trailer establishes a strong ethos with showing the movie making symbol, Warner Brothers, decorated "Harry Potter" like. Warner Brothers is a very popular and successful company and are proud to have Harry Potter tied to their name. The rest of the preview is all feeding fans' ethos. The whole trailer consists of short clips, no longer than 3 seconds. This draws the audience in and makes them focus deeply on the trailer. It flashes so many memorable and intense scenes which Harry Potter fans can recognize from the book. It shows nearly every character that Harry Potter fans love, even characters that haven't been seen for several movies, such as Dobby (the house elf). This gets the fans really excited. They also appeal to ethos when they play the famous Harry Potter theme music at the end and show the Harry Potter title. Harry Potter has been around for so long that the movie would not be without its entrancing music. This trailer does not use logos, which is perfectly fine, as their audience is deeply emotionally connected to Harry Potter.
5. This trailer is very effective because it pulls on every heart string of harry potter fans. Fans have been waiting and anticipating this movie for so long. In the trailer they show a lot of footage ranging over the whole book. Some might say this is giving away too much, but for this audience, who has read the book at least twice, they want to see what the movie is going to be like.

STAR

1. Relevant- definitely connected to the audience in giving them what they want to see. ALOT of exciting thrill packed scenes. The significance of showing alot of different scenes is because Harry Potter fans like it when the movie closely follows the book. The trailer shows enough parts from the book which reassures fans that the movie will include most of their beloved book.
2. Sufficient- this trailer seems to give the perfect amount of clues to what the movie is gonna be like. It is long and can show alot, and the clip segments are so short that some you have to watch over again to figure out what they were. This gets fans even more excited as they watch the trailer over and over again.
